Ferrets need their ears cleaned frequently to prevent a build up of wax which can lead to ear mites.

Using a cotton ear cleaner soaked in some warm water gently clean the inside of the ear. Do not dig any further than you can see inside the ear as this can cause discomfort or hurt your ferret. The wax may look dark red like blood but this is nothing to worry about. A distraction treat, like the nail clipping will probably be needed to subdue your fuzzy while you clean their ears.
